It's cute, but I have a question:
why is the character so popular?

I also drew the figure twice (because I like making/drawing monsters out of cute figures)
and when I was looking for a suitable reference, I noticed again how popular it is.

Lucky Star has been around since 2003 and still has new chapters being produced. The anime gained massive popularity during the early days of internet meme culture. The manga and anime are in the slice-of-life genre, which is accessible to pretty much any audience, regardless of age or gender.

Konata Izumi, the main character herself, is considered to be the lighthearted embodiment of otaku culture. Even 17 years later, her smug expressions can be recognized by most anime enthusiasts. Her character design is simple to draw but complex enough to stand out amongst her peers in the moe genre. Her carefree attitude mixed with her encyclopedic knowledge of anime and games are charming qualities anyone can strive for.

Lucky Star was released at the right place, at the right time, with a solid cast of entertaining characters, each having their own stories to tell, in a genre that's about relaxing and taking your time enjoying life in general.

I think it's really cool that you got the expression so that you don't even have to hear it to know that it's a bully.

a macabre question about the character:
if she manages to end her life and then a necromancer comes around and revives her. would she then rage about it or would she laugh at the irony?

ok, i see what you were up to. and assume that you have worked with colored pencil.

do you accept criticism or tips?
i don't know what kind of technique they use, nor do i know roughly how they go about it.

I think your art styles are really cool. I especially like the expression in the picture and it is similar to where I work myself and want to go with my art. (dark and sweet at the same time).
